Overview

CloudPerch is a managed hosting company. To run your sites, register your domains, bill you fairly, and answer your questions, we have to handle a little bit of your data. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and readable rather than burying the point in fine print.

The short version: your data is yours. We collect what we need to provide the service, we do not sell it, and we work to keep it safe. If something here is unclear, email privacy@cloudperch.io and a real person will answer.

This policy covers the CloudPerch marketing site, customer dashboard, and hosting services. It does not cover the content youpublish on the sites you host with us — you are the steward of your visitors' data, and your own privacy notice governs that.

Information we collect

We try to collect only what the job requires. Depending on how you use CloudPerch, that can include:

  • Account information — your name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), and any organization details you add when you sign up.
  • Billing information — your plan, billing address, and the last digits and brand of your card. Full card numbers are handled by our payment processor and never touch our servers.
  • Domain registration details — the contact information required by the registry when you register or transfer a domain through us.
  • Site & usage data — the sites you provision, their plans, resource usage, backup history, and operational logs we need to keep things running and troubleshoot problems.
  • Support messages — the emails and notes you send our team, so we can help you and keep a record of what we did.
  • Technical & cookie data — your IP address, browser, device, and similar details collected automatically when you visit our site or sign in. See our Cookie Policy for the specifics.

We do not ask for sensitive categories of personal data (such as health or biometric information), and we'd rather you didn't send any our way.

How we use your information

We use the information above for a small, predictable set of purposes:

  • To create and run your account, provision sites, and register domains.
  • To bill you, process payments, and send receipts and renewal notices.
  • To provide support and respond when you reach out.
  • To keep the platform secure and reliable — monitoring for abuse, fraud, and outages, and maintaining backups.
  • To send service messages you need (security alerts, maintenance windows, policy updates). These are operational, not marketing.
  • To improve CloudPerch — understanding which features help and where people get stuck — using aggregated, de-identified data wherever we can.
  • To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We only send marketing email if you opt in, and every marketing message has a one-click unsubscribe. We will never sell your attention to a third party.

Cookies & tracking

We use a modest set of cookies — the ones that keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and help us understand how the site is used. We do not run third-party advertising trackers across the CloudPerch site.

You can control or clear cookies in your browser at any time, though signing in and a few conveniences depend on the essential ones. For the full breakdown of what we set and why, read our Cookie Policy.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers (subprocessors) that help us run CloudPerch, and only the data they need to do their part:

  • Hosting & infrastructure — the data-center and server providers that run the machines your sites live on.
  • Cloudflare — for our global CDN, DNS, and DDoS protection.
  • Payment processing — a PCI-compliant payment provider that handles card details and charges on our behalf.
  • Email delivery — the provider that sends your receipts, alerts, and support replies.
  • Domain registry & registrar partners — to register and manage the domains you buy through us.

Each of these is bound by contract to protect your data and use it only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of CloudPerch and our customers, or as part of a merger or acquisition — in which case we will tell you before your data moves to a new owner.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and you need the service. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable window, except where we are required to keep certain records longer:

  • Billing and tax records are retained for the period our financial and legal obligations require.
  • Backups follow a 30-day retention cycle and roll off automatically, so deleted data clears from backups within that window.
  • Security and operational logs are kept for a limited time to investigate incidents and abuse, then purged.

If you would like your account and data removed sooner, contact us and we'll take care of it — see your rights below.

How we protect data

Security is built into the way CloudPerch runs. Traffic is encrypted in transit with free, auto-renewing SSL; each site runs under its own system user and separate PHP-FPM pool, so tenants stay isolated; and access to customer data inside CloudPerch is limited to the people who need it to do their work.

We take daily backups with 30-day retention, sit behind Cloudflare's DDoS protection, and review our practices regularly. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we treat your trust as something to earn every day. For a fuller picture of our safeguards, read our Security page. If you believe you've found a vulnerability, please report it to security@cloudperch.io.

Your rights & choices

You stay in control of your data. Wherever you live, we aim to honor these choices, and in some regions the law guarantees them:

  • Access — ask what personal data we hold about you.
  • Export — request a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Correct — fix anything inaccurate or out of date.
  • Delete— close your account and have your personal data erased, subject to the records we're legally required to keep.
  • Object or restrict — tell us to stop or limit certain uses of your data, and opt out of marketing at any time.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@cloudperch.io. We may need to verify your identity first, and we'll respond within the timeframe the law allows. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority, though we hope you'll give us the chance to put things right first.

International data transfers

CloudPerch and our service providers may process your data in countries other than the one you live in, including where our servers and partners are located. When we move personal data across borders, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms — such as standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard — to make sure your data keeps the protection this policy describes.

By using CloudPerch, you understand that your information may be processed in these locations. If you have questions about where your data lives, just ask.

Children's privacy

CloudPerch is built for businesses and the people who run their websites, not for children. Our services are not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@cloudperch.ioand we'll delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

As CloudPerch grows, this policy may need updating. When we make a meaningful change, we'll revise the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know by email or a notice in your dashboard before it takes effect.

We encourage you to check back now and then. Continuing to use CloudPerch after an update means you accept the revised policy.
